Critical thinking and media literacy.
Today, we are surrounded by information everywhere: on our phones, on television, in the news, and especially on social media. Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish between truth and falsehood. That's why I believe critical thinking and media literacy are such important skills.
Critical thinking helps me stop and question things before believing them. For example, when I see a post on Facebook or Instagram, I don't share it immediately. I try to check if the source is reliable or if other people share the same opinion. That way, I avoid falling for fake news.
For me, media literacy means understanding how messages are created and why they are shared. Often, the media or influencers present information in a way that makes us think or act in a certain direction. If we are aware of this, we can make better decisions and avoid being manipulated.
In my daily life, these skills have helped me be more careful with my beliefs and what I share. I know that being a responsible person online is also part of being a good citizen. Ultimately, using critical thinking and media literacy is not only about protecting myself, but also about contributing to a more respectful and truthful society.
